Coffee.
Oh boy. This is so me these days. I think I accidentally made drinking coffee my new year’s resolution. One cup in the morning has me pumped all day long @ work + workout + making dinner + more. It’s amazing. Can’t believe I stopped in the first place. (Shhhh, my stomach hasn’t fully caught on yet….)
Coffee: A Slippery Slope
I woke up this morning very fatigued and generally feeling run down. I decided to work from home (couch + Christmas tree should always be part of my day workday), and take it easy so that I might ward off what might be getting sick. I was lethargic all day and just couldn’t seem to focus. I tried a nap, and that didn’t work. And then I did something CRAZY: I had a cup of coffee. My 2nd cup of coffee in two years. And like magic I’ve cranked out my entire day’s worth of work and I’m on to working on a personal project. The problem with this is coffee is a SLIPPERY SLOPE. I begrudgingly quite caffeine two years ago for my stomach (GERD), did that for about a year, and then started drinking green tea. My tummy does ok with green tea, but I really did enjoy no caffeine and waking up in the morning and BEING AWAKE. And now coffee!? Ugh. I loved not being a coffee drinker. My stomach loved me not being a coffee drinker. But GEEZ is it good for writing and focusing. Personal reminder: Must. Keep. This. In. Check.
Starbucks is testing out wine and beer at their flagship store.
Making an afternoon espresso. Old school.
I had an amazing ceramic stove top espresso maker. But sadly it broke, and I haven’t had coffee in 3 months. Both tragic instances are unrelated.
