Traveling to the Race
Yesterday was crazy, and I don’t know a time that I’ve ever been more stressed out, which I know is exactly how you’re not supposed to be before the race.
I missed my flight, but then caught the next one on standby. I hadn’t eaten all day, so I was really looking forward to a sandwich on the plane. Of course, as soon as they got to the row in front of me, they handed out the last sandwich, then the last cheese and crackers.
Before a race, you are supposed to carb load, which means that you eat normal amounts, but make sure that 70% of your calories come from carbs. So, given that they ran out of anything decent, I had to improvise.
