American Airlines, You are Everything that is Wrong with a Corporation

I missed my flight to the marathon. I think I’ll make it there, but the worst part is that I was here on time.

American Airlines now has a computer enforcing whether people make their flights or not. It doesn’t matter if you check in one minute “late,” according to whatever they have plugged in as “late,” you can’t check your bag.

I had plenty of time. I was here an hour before, stood in line, then got to the front to learn it was “too late.” Then I was sent to another line (for 20 minutes) to get booked on another flight, and they told me the next flight was booked, and I had to go on standby. (The next flight after that is tomorrow morning at 7am).

I went through all of this, didn’t rush through security, and I still would have made it in time. Not one employee was helpful. They looked at me and said too bad. At one point my questions began being ignored. Had a BRAIN been involved, I would have made my flight.

To make matters even more ridiculous, I asked if I could fly on my flight, and let my bags come on the later flight. They said no, that I had to fly with them, but then told me my bags would go on the standby flight even if I don’t make it. Hypocrisy much?

WHO IS RUNNING THIS OPERATION!?!?
