the New Museum, New York, NYA group of New York comedians perform readings on the joys and pitfalls of a technology-saturated culture. The evening will include Chelsea Peretti, Amy Poehler, John Roberts, Joe Mande, Anthony Atamanuik and Laura Krafft, many whom are notable for gaining fame on the internet, from Roberts’ Youtube monologues to Peretti’s episodic online shows including the 6-part series “All My Exes.”
—THE COMEDIANS—
John Roberts and his viral video “The Christmas Tree” was nominated for a broadband Emmy award and was featured on VH1’s Best Week Ever. “Jackie & Debra” won The Comedy Smalls award in London. He has over 4 million hits on Youtube.
Amy Poehler is in her seventh season on Saturday Night Live and her third in the co-anchor seat of “Weekend Update.” Poehler has been in several major feature films, including Blades of Glory, Mean Girls, and Wet Hot American Summer.
Laura Krafft is a comedic writer and actress. An ImprovOlympic and Second City alum, she is currently a staff writer for The Colbert Report.
Anthony Atamanuik can be seen on NBC’s 30 Rock, playing a very expressive staff writer, online in new episodes of Debate Porridge, and is a regular video contributor to the Huffington Post.
Joe Mande was named one of Heeb Magazine’s “100 Jews to Watch” and won an ECNY Award for Best Emerging Comic in 2007. Sometimes you can see Joe as a panelist on Vh1’s Best Week Ever.
Chelsea Peretti is co-creator of the web satire BlackPeopleLoveUs.com. Peretti’s original series “All My Exes” on SuperDeluxe.com was named as one of 20 Funniest Web Videos of 2007 by New York Magazine.$6 members, $8 general public
