ugh, so i had to have surgery on my hand. i was losing function b/c of a bone spur and cyst on the top side of my RIGHT hand. bummer all around, but i wanted to get this out of the way before this season’s triathlon training got intense.
so, i went in this morning at 7:30 to nyu outpatient surgery center (which is AWESOME btw, both the people and the facility) to get it over with. i wasnt exactly anticipating the magnitude of the procedure.
first they put in the IV and dosed me a little bit. then blocked all the nerves in my right arm. then knocked me out all the way for the hour long procedure which included some bone shaving, digging ane cutting. lovely, i know.
i woke up and came out of the anesthesia pretty quickly and wanted water like whoa since i had been fasting after midnight. then it hit me. i cant move or feel my arm. i’ve since decided paralysis is absolutely terrifying and maddening.

aaaaaaand now i’m getting tired of typing with my left hand and the two vicodin are setting in, so i’ll conclude with i have to have a cast on for 10 days, no working out, dressing by myself, or writing. i’m sure i will find other things that are stupidly annoying as well, but what i’m really trying to say is that i had NO IDEA it would be like this.
ok, vicodin is working. Good night tumblr.
p.s. if u would like to send me a get well pressie please make it in the form of a donation to the leukemia and lymphoma society ;)
