Huh, interested in giving these a go.One of the eye opening stories coming out of the US Olympic Marathon trials in January wasn’t just that Meb Keflezighi won, but that he won running in Skechers Go Run shoes. Also, that he was previously dropped from Nike. Oops. Skechers came in, stood by the guy, and now have our country’s #1 pony going into the coming 5 ring London circus. In terms of shoe companies, it seemed very David v. Goliath to me, and also helps bring to light the fact that there are many great and passionate companies out there who are fighting their guts out just to get some consideration from the running shoe market. I’ve been excited about giving these a run and took them out after teaching a spin class today.
These are bold shoes. They’re designed to remove heel strike by rounding out the sole and you can feel it - like they’re constantly propelling you forward. Great for beginners or correcting bad habits. They’re also light, flexible, comfortable, and give room in the forefoot where most shoes tend to pinch in. It’s a distinct feeling, and an admirable design choice. There aren’t many shoes I put on that I feel like I could race in the next day. I could race in these tomorrow. Plus, they’re cheaper than the big boys. I’ll update after 100 miles. Right now, very pleased.
